Confronta HOFFMAN 150 mm Hook e ALVA Small Hook per dimensioni, finitura e portata per scegliere il gancio da parete in ottone giusto per cappotti, asciugamani o borse.
Quick answer
Choose the HOFFMAN 150mm Hook for heavy coats and bags in hallways or bedrooms, thanks to its 17kg capacity and larger double-pronged design. Choose the ALVA Small Hook for lighter items like towels or compact bags, especially when lining up several hooks in a row.
Size and capacity: when bigger is better
The HOFFMAN 150mm Hook measures 150 x 16 x 52 mm and holds up to 17kg, making it the sturdier option for bulky winter coats, heavy totes, or damp towels that need space to dry. Its double-pronged design also lets you hang two items at once.
The ALVA Small Hook is a compact, tubular hook that holds up to 7kg. That's plenty for a single coat, a hand towel, or a light bag, but it's not intended for heavy loads. If you regularly hang thick coats or multiple bags on one hook, the HOFFMAN is the safer choice.
Finish and maintenance: lacquered vs living brass
The HOFFMAN comes in an Antique Brass finish—a darkened, gold-warmed tone that is lacquered to hold its colour. It needs no polishing and keeps a consistent look over time.
The ALVA is made from unlacquered brass, which will develop a patina as it ages. You can leave it to darken naturally or polish it occasionally with a brass cleaner to restore shine. This makes the ALVA a better fit if you want a living finish that evolves, while the HOFFMAN suits a low-maintenance, uniform look.
Placement and styling: scale and repetition
The HOFFMAN's larger size makes it a statement piece on its own—ideal for a hallway where one or two hooks serve as the main coat storage. Its double prongs add visual interest and practical hanging space.
The ALVA's compact, retro silhouette is designed to be lined up in a row. Its smaller scale keeps a row of hooks from overwhelming a wall, making it a good choice for a bathroom towel rail or a bedroom wall where you want a neat, uniform look.
Key trade-offs to weigh
- Load capacity vs. compact size: The HOFFMAN holds 17kg and takes up more wall space; the ALVA holds 7kg and is more compact. If you need to hang heavy items, accept the larger footprint of the HOFFMAN. If space is tight, choose the ALVA and reserve it for lighter loads.
- Lacquered finish vs. living patina: The HOFFMAN's Antique Brass is lacquered, so it keeps its colour without maintenance. The ALVA's unlacquered brass will patina over time and may need occasional polishing. Pick the HOFFMAN for a consistent look; pick the ALVA if you want a finish that ages naturally.
- Single statement vs. row arrangement: The HOFFMAN works well as a standalone hook or in pairs for heavy use. The ALVA is designed to be lined up in a row for a uniform, space-efficient arrangement. Decide whether you want a focal point or a repeated pattern.
